The Forest Act was passed by the british in 1865. It was Amendemented twice. The amendment of 1878 is major. It divide the Forest in three groups:Reserved, Protected, and Village Forest.

Villagers are not allowed to go in Reserve forest. Villagers can take fuel wood from protected forest under supervision of british officials. Villagers can take fuel wood and graze thier cattle in village forest.

After this Forest rule, The daily routine of peoples is changed. From Now, they can't go in the forest, can't collect fuel wood, can't graze their cattle. If they are caught they are punished and exploited by the guards of british. They also change their occupation after this rule. Before the forest act, most of the people's occupation is Hunting. After the rule they can't go in the forest. So, they can't hunt.
