Explain what happens if bauxite containing iron and silica as impurities is directly subjected to the process of electrolytic reduction without prior purification

Crude bauxite contains iron oxide and silica as its impurities.

If any iron is in bauxite,it will get deposited at the cathode[-ve] in preference to Aluminium[from bauxite ore] bcoz iron is less electropositive than Al
