(i) it means when we added potassium permanganate to citric acid . the reaction will be hydrolysis reaction. ... than citric acid act as catalyst and immediately water became purple in colour. and permagnic acid is formed
(ii) Potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7) is a strong oxidising agent and hence the sulfur dioxide (SO2) gets oxidised to sulfate (SO42−), the Cr+6 in potassium dichromate (orange coloured) gets reduced to Cr+3 in chromium sulphate (Cr2(SO4)3) which is green coloured compound.
