there can be two cases:-
a. when more than one force act on a body in same direction then the forces get added and the object displaces easily
b. when more than one force act on a body in different direction then the forces will subtract and the object displaces with difficulty

If the forces are in the same direction. they are added and the force is increased.
And if they are in different directions. They are subtracted. And hence the total force is decreased or nulled
