1—Life processes are those processes that are vital for an organism to live, and that shape its capacities for interacting with its environment. They are nutrition, transportation, metabolism, respiration, control & coordination, growth & development, reproduction, and excretion.

2—Life processes are made of many biochemical reactions or other events that are involved in the persistence and transformation of life forms.

3—Metabolism and homeostasis are examples of life processes. Metabolism includes all the biochemical reactions that maintain homeostasis. These biochemical reactions are either catabolic reactions, which are energy-releasing or exothermic reactions, or anabolic reactions, which are energy-absorbing or endothermic reactions.
