Digestion is how your body turns food you eat into nutrients it uses for energy, growth, and cell repair. The digestive tract (or gastrointestinal tract) is a long twisting tube that starts at your mouth and ends at your anus.Digestion is the breakdown of large insoluble food molecules into small water-soluble food molecules so that they can be absorbed into the watery blood plasma.

Its importance:-

When you eat foods - such as bread, meat, and vegetables - they are not in a form that the body can use as nourishment. Food and drink must be changed into smaller molecules of nutrients before they can be absorbed into the blood and carried to cells throughout the body.
