pressure on a surface dependence upon two factor force and surface area.
if the surface area is less . with lesss force u can pierce the object but if suface area is more more force is required
considerr a needle . u need less force to pass it through cloth whereas if u take a rubber which has more surface area u cant

pressure equals to force per unit area .That is when 1 N of force is applied on 1 m^2 of area than some pressure is done . S.I units of pressure is Pascal.pressure increases when force increses and vice versa . But it is inversely proportional to area . hope u find it helpful.
