Explain what is meant by the equation g=Gxx(M)/(R^(2)) Where the symbols have their usual meanings.

Answer:

This is the equation of acceleration due to gravity .

This equation is obtained by  w = mg

                                                 F = G Mm/R^2

                  So,   mg = GMm/R^2

                           g = GM/R^2

                      where, G = universal gravitation constant

                                   M = mass of the planet

                                   R = radius of the planet

This eqaution is not constant for all places .        

This equation gives acceleration due to gravity of the place.
