What is polarisation in terms of chemistry?

Polarisation can be different types-a)ionic polarisation(in ionic bond),b)induced polarisation of bond,c)ion polarisation and many more.

a)ionic polarisation means while forming ionic bonds, one species donates electron to another http://species.so cation and anion takes place and polarisation extent becomes very high for that bond.positive and negative pole that is cation and anion attracts each other and forms bond.

b)if a ionic bond is present in any molecule, its poles that is positive and negative counterparts would polarise its neighbour covalent bond that will be a induced polarisation.

c)if cation size is very small and anion size is very big in an ionic bond that effective nuclear charge of cation(electron deficient) attracts loosely bound penultimate shell electron cloud of anion and distorts anionic electron cloud shape.this is ion polarisation.vice versa polarisation is also possible for pseudo noble gas cations where anion and cation polarises
