woman played a very vital role during french revolution. they raised they voice for the rights and respect that they deserved as at that time people weren't actually concerned about their rights . and after france was declared a constitutional monarchy , constitution of 1791 had reduced them to a passive citizen . they were really disappointed after all this. Actually , from very beginning, they were involved in many a events with a hope that their involvement would pressurise the revolutionary government to introduce measure for betterment and improvement in their lives. They organised many clubs , most famous of them were society of Revolutionary and Republican women .
In early years, the revolutionary government did introduce laws like, divorce was made legal
schooling was made compulsory etc.
women's struggle and movements for equal political rights continued through the next hundred years in many countries of the world.
and after a very long struggle , French women won the right to vote in 1946. The example of the political activities of French women during the revolutionary years was kept inspiring alive as an inspiring memory.
hope it helped :)
