A solution with higher water potential is called as hypotonic solution.

When a plant cell is kept in a solution having higher water potential, due to the process of osmosis, the water moves from the solution into the cell.

The cell walls are rigid, thus cell cannot rupture.

Thus, there is enlargement of the cells.
