I don't know what was mentioned above, but I'm guessing it's chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is a green pigment present in chloroplasts, a type of plastid(It is plastid not plastic). If it is not present, plants would not be able to prepare their own food and so, autotrophs like plants and other primary consumers depended on plants will be deprived of their source of food, and eventually they will die.
