The collision of two black holes.

Everything about the space has interested humans from all walks.
And certainly the black holes have!

Collision of two black holes has never taken place or even if it had taken place we humans haven't able to detect it.Humans have been able to give theories regarding this and the most famous of all is Einstein's Theory of General Relativity.

So now I'm opening up.

We should be knowing the most basic concept. A black hole has such gravitational force that even light can't escape from it.

Light can't escape from it, certainly when 2 black holes come closer (Let's forget about collision) they both can't escape from each other's powerful gravitational force.

And when the black holes meet or what we say collide then they merge to form a bigger black hole.

What happens at that moment when the 2 black holes collide?
Since, black holes are massive so when they will collide ripples will be sent through the space time.Since these ripples are created due to gravitational force of the 2 black holes, they are called 'Gravitational Waves'.

Till now no collision has been detected. We can say that the Gravitational waves have never been detected by all the best technology the humans have developed. But then we have never carried out any experiments. All things related to cosmology has been developed through theories only.

LIGO Gravitational Wave observation has been set up in US for the purpose of detecting gravitational waves.More powerful instruments like LISA Observatory is being developed to detect the first gravitational waves of 2 black holes.

The most interesting thing is that -- Humans have been able to detect 2 such black holes (supermassive!) that might lead to possible collision in near future. They are quite close to each other.

When these black holes will collide, we will be able to detect the waves generated by the collision and thus a new chapter will be opened in the physics of Black Holes leading to interesting observations and conclusions!

(P.S) - -Picture 1 -- Gives the ideal diagram of ripples that will be generated when collision takes place.

Picture 3 -- The process of Collision (described by LIGO)

Hope This Helps You!

Space is really a great thing which is unknown and has many innumerable facts hiding in it..
It is really a great place still hiding many of the things.
On of such thing is black hole.

Let's know what is a black hole?
Black hole is a place which has a high gravitational power and even a radiation can't escape from it.
It is usually made by big stars when they die.

Many scientists have gone through this mysterious black hole theory but noone has got a full information about it.

In 1796 , Simon Pieree was first one to discover something like black hole.

What happens when it collides?

It is still not really sure and undefined about the collisions but the reports suggest that it had once happened nearly before 1.5 billion years back and gravitational waves were discovered from the coliiding black holes.

Many of the scientists had put their life on it and still they got little information about it.

In 1960, Scientists of the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) had discovered a collision and the thing they discovered was the ripples were produced In the space time when the black holes collide.

A situation is also be said to developed that maybe if they would collide the high gravitation force in them can make up a bigger black hole.

Hope this helps......
