Sexual reproduction refers to the mode of reproduction where two gametes (male and female) are required to create an offspring. Here, the offspring is not exactly identical to the parent as in asexual reproduction. While some animals may possess both male and female reproductive organs, they still follow sexual mode of reproduction as both male and female gametes are involved.

Sexual reproduction is a process which involves production of seeds. It requires two parents. Most plants reproduce sexually with the help of flowers. The main function of a flower is to reproduce and therefore develop new seeds that can grow into new plants.
