HEY DEAR ...
When a drop of concentrated sugar solution is placed on rheo leaf osmosis process takes place or we can say the cell gets plasmolysed as it shrinks and the amount of water in it gets tranfered to the surrounding medium/
sugar solution...but when rheo leaf is boiled..the cells of rheo leaf becomes dead and following plasmolysis doesnt occur .

Concentrated Sugar solution is called hypertoic solution (more or higher concentration). If a cell is placed in such a solution (solution outside the cell has more concentration than the cell sap), water will move out of the cell, i.e. exosmosis will take place. The protoplasm will, therefore, shrink.
