A can or bottle with hot water gets distorted when cold water is poured over it because when hot water evaporates it forms steam which exerts pressure on the inner surface of the can. But as soon as cold water is poured over it, the steam condenses to form water again and then the atmospheric pressure acts on the outer surface of the can. Due to the atmospheric pressure, the can or bottle crumbles or gets distorted. (most probably tin can)
