Charged balloon repels charged balloon:
- Same charges repel each other whereas opposite charges attract each other.
- When objects are rubbed with each other, there is frictional force acting between two objects.
- The friction changes the polarity of the objects.
- When a balloon is rubbed with woollen cloth, the electrons of woollen cloth move to balloon. This charges balloon negatively and woollen cloth positively.
- When a charged balloon is brought near another charged balloon. The negative charges repel.
- When a balloon is uncharged it has equal number of positive and negative charges.
- So, when a charged balloon is placed near uncharged balloon, negative charges of charged balloon attracts positive charges of uncharged balloon.
