Human body is a conductor of electricity. So, when we touch a charged object, our body conducts its charges to the Earth. That is why a charged body loses its charge, if we touch it with our hand. This phenomenon is known as earthing.

A charged body has excess of electrons on its free surface ( the surface of a body which is in contact with the surrounding atmosphere/air).

These free electrons give the body a negative charge.

When we touch a charged body with our hands, it loses its charge. The reason is that our hands do not have electrons, that is, our hands are neutral in charge. So, the electrons from the charged body start flowing to our hands until both the charged body and our hands have equal number of electrons. Hence, the charged body loses its charge.
