Copper wire has a high enough melting point. since the entire circuit is made of copper wire there isn't any sense in using copper wire as fuse since fuse is there to melt itself and protect the circuit

A copper wire cannot be used as a fuse wire because -

• The melting point of the fuse wire should be very low ,in order to get melted whenever excessive amount of electricity passes through it.

• But, the melting point of the copper is very high and that's why it can tolerate high amount of electricity flow.

• So,if we use copper wire as the fuse wire, the excessive flow of electricity will easily enter the main circuit and the basic reason to install a fuse will become invalid.
