because their roots are unable to respire in water and wen water loging happens, the air spaces inside soil come out in the in the form of bubbles.

plants also need oxygen for respiration. but if their roots remain in water logged for long time diffussion of oxygen will not be proper between soil nd root nodules nd as a result land plants die.
