explain why a legume crop does not require nitrogenous fertilizers

Hii frnd here is ur answer.

Nitrogenous fertiliser is not added in soil in which leguminous plants aregrown because the nitrogen fixing bacteria reside in the root nodules of the leguminous plants. These bacteria convert atmospheric nitrogen into soluble nitrogenouscompounds.

leguminous plans have a special kind of bacteria in their root nodules which is fixing nitrogen from air and convert it into nitrogenous salts which can be consumed by plants easily

hence they do not need nitrogen
