Explain why a loaded cargo ship sails from sea water to river water?

The density of sea water is high compared to normal fresh water. This is the reason why ships can easily float on it. However, if were to place the ship in river water then, due to its lesser density (than sea water), the ship is bound to sink if its completely loaded. As you mentioned above ship is loaded with cargo then it will obviously sink..
