Explain why a ship made of steel floats on water but a steel needle sinks.

The ship is made is such a shape to float
Every boats and ships are made of streamline shape....you can observe it the starting of a ship is pointed and thn goes on increasing
+)other reason is the construction of a ship is done in such a way that the mass is divided evenly and due to the upthrust applied by the water balances the weight....where as for needle the mass is not divided properly and upthrust can not lift it up so it sinks

ship float because inside it there is some air present in ship
but in needle sinks because it doesn't have any space between it's atom molecules
