When acetone and chloroform are mixed together a hydrogen bond is formed between them which increases inter molecular attraction between them.

Due to which the volume occupied by Chloroform and acetone is lesser than the volume occupied by chloroform-chloroform Bond and acetone-acetone bond.

Due to which the resultant volume is lower than expected. Thus, it this negative deviation .
