(a) All three isotopes of hydrogen have identical chemical properties . This is because the number of electrons determines chemical properties, and all three isotopes have one electron in their atoms.

(b) Isotopes are electrically neutral because they possess an equal number of protons (+) and electrons (-).

(c) Isotopes have different mass numbers, though, because they have different numbers of neutrons. The word isotope, meaning at the same place, comes from the fact that isotopes are at the same place on the periodic table. In a neutral atom, the number of electrons equals the number of protons.

Answer:

a) isotopes have identical chemical properties because they have same number of electron.

b) Isotopes are neutral because they have equal number of electron and proton.

c) atomic mass is the sum of proton and neutron. each isotope has different number of neutron that is why isotopes differ in their masses.
