Explain why (a)Zinc liberates hydrogen gas when reacted with dilute hydrochloric acid, whereas copper does not? (b) We store silver chloride in dark coloured bottles?

Answer:

1. zinc comes before hydrogen in reactivity series so it liberates hydrogen , where as copper comes after hydrogen so it can't liberate hydrogen.

2. silver chloride is a colouress liquid so it is good to keep them in dark coloured bottle.
