Explain why?after 1 hour, the volume of 8% glucose solution will increase and volume of 3% glucose solution will decrease.

Solution of 3% glucose is hypotonic compared to solution of 8% glucose. Since the membrane separation them is semi-permeable, water from the hypotonic solution (or 3% glucose solution) will move to the hypertonic solution(or 8% glucose solution). Hence, after 1 hour, the volume of 8% glucose solution will increase and volume of 3% glucose solution will decrease.
