In the laboratory preparation of ammonia we cannot use ammonium nitrate because ammonium nitrate is explosive in nature and may self decompose  even before the reaction takes place forming nitrous acid and water vapour.

It is preferable to use ammonium sulphate or ammonium chloride for preparation of ammonia

Ammonium nitrate [NH4NO3] is explosive and will vigorously react with other reactants forming an unsuitable condition if it is used in the preparation of ammonia. So, ammonium nitrate is not used in the preparation of ammonia.
