Explain why an air bubble rising from the bottom of an aquarium appears shiny.​

  • When light passes from air to water, it moves from a rarer to denser medium.
  • However in the case of bubbles, the critical angle is greater than 90°.
  • Hence because of these reflected rays, bubbles appear shiny.
