Explain why an iron needle sinks in water,but a ship made of iron floats on water​

Answer:

according to archimedes principle the volume displaced by ship is far greater than that displaced by needle. since the upthrust has the formula =volume displaced ×g× density,as volume increases upthrust increases and hence ship will float on water.
