2Na + Cl2 ----------> 2NaCl

Na2Co3 has a basic Aqueous solution as Carbonate is a weak acid and Sodium is a strong base. Hence the resultant solution is basic in nature.

2NaHCo3 ---heat---> Na2Co3 + Co2 + H20
