There is no space between the individual particles, so they cannot pack together. The kinetic-molecular theory explains why gases are more compressible than either liquids or solids. Gases are compressible because most of the volume of a gasis composed of the large amounts of empty space between the gasparticles.

gases has low force of attraction between their particles
so we can compress gas easily
but water or liquid has high force of attraction between their particles as compared to gases hence they have low compressibility as compared to liquids
