We know calcium is less reactive then sodium and pottasium so when Na react with water then calcium oxide and hydrogen gas is formed as product .less heat is generated. In the reaction which is not able to burn the hydrogen gas so this hydrogen get stick to the surface of the sodium metal which makes it floating
