Explain why carboxylic acids have higher boiling points than alcohols of similar ,molecular weight

the intermolecular bonding needs to be broken before the substance can boil . the boiling of carboxylic acids increases as the molecules get bigger. it is due to the stronger H bonding and polar nature of acids than alcohol .
