Explain why cars should travel more slowly in wet weather. ​

If you drive too fast, brake or steer harshly, then you risk breaking the adhesion of the tyres. Friction is lost and your car skids. A skid is a loss of control of your vehicle. A wet road means there is less friction so the chances of overcoming the limits of this are greater.

When a car slows down, the friction between the road and the tires helps to bring the car to a stop as the wheels slow down.

Some other reasons that why should we drive slow in rainy season:-

Going slower in the rain gives you more time to react if another car on the road loses control and you need to make a sudden stop. As rain collects in puddles on the road, the oil that has dripped onto the road sits on the surface of the water, making it even more slippery.
