Explain why Co2,So2, and Nh3,cao cannot be explained by Arrhenius

Answer:

Though CO2, SO2 are acidic, they don't have H+ ion to donate. Thus they are unfit as Arrhenius acid.

NH3 and CaO are basic, but they don't have OH^- ion to donate. Thus they are unfit as Arrhenius base.

These are the limitations of Arrhenius theory.
