The heat capacity at constant pressure Cp is greater than the heat capacity at constant volume CV , because when heat is added at constant pressure, the substance expands work.

___________

\huge\green\bold{Why\;c_p\; is\; alway\; greater\;than\;c_v ? }

》 cp is work done at constant pressure .

》 cv is work done at constant volume.

》 In , Cp pressure is constant , when temperature is increased this increase the internal energy that is energy of gas molecules in the container .

》 Cv is work done at constant volume that is piston of container is fixed .

》 So , in cp gas works work .

• Now , there is a question why it works more , So , lets explain it :-

》》In cp gas has two types of work

1▪ Its internal energy is increased , it moves more randomly .

2▪ It works on piston to push it upwards as its internal energy is increased so to fix it , it has to move piston .

》》 In cv as piston is fixed it cannot be moved

• So , in cv gas has just one function or work

1▪ Internal energy is increased .

■ Now it has become cleared that In cp more work is done as compared to cv .
