Cricket is known to have origins in the country of England.

The British imperial officials brought the game to their colonies. The officials made very little effort to spread the game.

When the citizens of these colonies saw the officials playing even they started playing to copy their colonial masters.

This mainly happened in India and West Indies which were the non-whites colonies.

Cricket due to it's pre-industrial oddness it was limited to only in the countries under the British colonies which became independent later.
