Explain why CuSo4.5H2O can be dehydrated by reducing the external pressure at room temperature.

Answer:

When the external pressure is reduced, the vapour pressure of the solution will become equal to the atmospheric pressure and so the boiling point of the liquid decreases and it will lose its water of crystallisation easily and will get dehydrated.
