Democracy is considered asthe best form of government for the reasons as follow:
(a) Democracy cannot give us everything but it is clearly better than any other alternative. It is a government responsive to the needs of people.
(b) It is likely to respect people's wishes and allows different kinds of people to live together.
(c) Even when it fails to do some things, it allows ways o correcting its mistakes and offers more dignity to all its citizens.

Democracy is preferred as better form of government than any other form of government because:
I) Accountable government: Democracy represent the needs of a people. It doesn't depend on the wishes of the ruler. In simple words, we can say that democracy is for people and a democratic government is a better government because it is a more accountable form of government.
II) Based on consultation and discussion: Democracy is based on consultation and discussion. Many mistakes are corrected in time. Thus, democracy improves the quality of decision making.
III) Deals with differences and conflicts: Democracy provides a peaceful solution to every problem. It provided the best method of dealing with differences and conflicts. It suits the needs of many countries like India with diversity of languages, religions, caste and Creeds. Discussion lead to the solution of every problem, so it keeps our country united.
IV) Political equality: Democracy is based on political equality which ensured equal rights for both rich and the poor, the educated and uneducated. Thus, democracy enhances the dignity of every citizen.
V) Room for correction: If mistakes are made, it is only in democracy that they are admitted and then corrected. Thus, there is room for correction.
