a democracy is form of government that is of the people, by the people , for the people. in a democracy people elect representatives who rule the country on their behalf . the government which consists of the elected representatives of the people has the collective approval of the people to rule the country. the government is answerable to the people who have elected them to power.if the people are not happy with the performance of the government they can vote it out of power in the next elections.
