Explain why does dry hydrochloric acid not conduct electricity but its aqueous solution conducts electricity

Acids when dissolved in water produce H+ ions. The electric current is carried through the solution by these ions. But in dry HCl acid it does not dissociate into H+ ions . So dry HCl acid do not conduct electricity
