Pb++  +  2e-  --------------------------> Pb            reduction                         (at cathode)
2Br-      -------------------------------> Br2  + 2e-       oxidation                 (at anode)
PbBr2  -------------------------------->  Pb  +  Br2
as oxidation and reduction both occour  hence this is called redox reaction
