Hello mate
Evaporation is the process of changing liquid molecules to its gaseous state at any temperature.
Now for changing state , the attractive force b/w liquid particles must be overcome. This requires energy . But we are not supplying any energy now. Where does this energy comes from ?
The answer is simple liquid has some internal energy , this internal energy is responsible for the change of state. When energy is taken away then there is considerably low energy means low vibration which means less heat due to vibration . Therefore the liquid on evaporation cools down.

▶During evaporation the molecules of the substance continuously move with random speeds in various directions.
▶During collisions they transfer energy to the other molecules. the molecules at the surface acquire energy and may fly off from the surface.
▶During the process of evaporation, the energy of the molecules inside the loquid decreases and they slow down. They transfer this energy to escaping molecules during the collisions.
▶This leads to cooling of the liquid during evaporation.
