• Helps us to walk comfortably on the floor

• Helps to minimize the speed or stop any moving object.

• Helps us to write.

Disadvantages

• It causes wear and tear in objects

• It causes damages to parts of machines and tools and prevents their proper working

• Reduces the speed of moving objects so more force is required

• Friction generates heat and causes wastage of energy
