Gases are more compressible than solids because gases have large intermolecular space and gas molecules are randomly located in the area, when pressure is applied the molecules get closer to each other decreasing intermolecular spaces and molecules getting organized. Hence gets compressed.
Solids have negligible intermolecular spaces and atoms are already packed in most efficient way possible. Thus applying pressure has no further effect on solids. Hence they are not compressible.

Explanation:
gases are more compressible that other states as interparticle spaces between molecules of gas which provude it a large space that's why forces of attaction is very low
