explain why generally only the male child suffers from colour blindness and not the female

because male has xy chromosome & female has xx chromosome and also male chromosome is changing like from parents X and y but in female it's constant like X and X...

this is why the genes that lead red green (colour blindness)are on the X chromosomes sex linked.males have only one chromosomes while female two.in female only one functional gene is capable to produce colour vision.
