If you take 1kg of water just above the freezing point, and you heat it up to just below the boiling point (without letting any escape or evaporate), it will end up with a mass of 1.000000000005 kg, because it now has extra thermal energy and E=mc2E=mc2. This is fun trivia but probably not what the questioner has in mind. :-)
