Explain why ice at 0 degree celsius is more effective in cooling then water at the same temperature?

HEY!!


Because water has high specific heat capacity so its stores more heat and is unable to cool things very easily at zero degree celsius that is why we use ice because it has low specific heat which means that it stores less heat inside it. Because icerelease the latent heat when it change from liquid to solid.

becoz of anamolous expansion of water. water gets cooles and expands on 4 degree but whn it reaches 0 degree it contract s and get freeze and the intermolecular molecules becomes larger and makes ice float as it is in sme quantity of Water.and ice acts as abarrier of heat and prevent heat conduction.
