Answer:

When we convert 1m^2 to centimeters, why is it 10,000 cm^2 when it should be 100cm^2? How does the length change to 10,000cm?

Hi,

I too had the same doubt about 10m^2 should be 100 cm^2.

But the exact solution to it is,

1m^2 meaning a 2D Square, whose length and breadth are equal to 1m.

But when you try to find its Area then,

Area = length x breadth, right?

Area = 1m x 1m

But when you convert 1m to centimetres, it would be 100cm for 1m.

So, Area = 100cm x 100cm

Area = 10000cm^2

So, that’s the value for 1m^2
